Trig Surveying Project

Here's my very first project that I spent a lot of time working on. It was a full 3D video for my Math Analysis class. The Trig-Surveying Project required my group and me to measure the area of any plot of land. We chose to measure Kennedy Jr High School's pavilion which was basically a big octagon in shape. To challenge ourselves a little (and to get a better grade) we found the area enclosed by the pavilion.

The video started off with a short credits page, where i accidentally misspelled somebody's name. Then it showed Kennedy Jr High School's pavilion rotating round and round. If you look real closely, you can actually see my friend's face in one of the walls (he was in one of the pictures that later became textures). Then it showed the area and volume of various objects the pavilion consisted of.

The result was a 1:15 minute 3D movie. The pavilion was rendered in 3D Studio and then put together with Adobe Premiere. A very experimental project. Sung to the tune of Mortal Kombat. =)

Data Analysis Project

I've set quite a name for our group in our Math Analysis class. We're now called the "Mortal Kombat" group since like the previous video, we played this one to the tune of Mortal Kombat too.

This time, instead of measuring stuff, we had to make surveys and pass them around at school. Then we had to analyze the data and try to lie with the data, as if we were trying to sell something to other students. Our survey looked at the hours spent on activities compared to the GPA of students. The results were then "smudged" to make it look good =). You see that in one of the pictures, that going online extensively raises one's GPA. Believable isn't it?

This video starts off with the infamous "THX digitally mastered" sign which i rendered in 3d. Then all the credits were played on top of a background animation of a 3D flaming tube. After the flaming tube, all the graphs were animated to show that students who go online and do not play sports receive higher GPA's. Once again, fully rendered in 3D Studio MAX and constructed in Premiere.

Adobe Dimensions
turtle biplane I always like to experiment with different graphix software. For these two images, I used a program called Adobe Dimensions. It was incredibly simple to use, but somewhat not as powerful as other 3d programs such as 3D Studio.

The turtle took no time at all to complete. It consisted of just a few ellipsoids making it's head, shell, and four flippers. I then put it on a very simple background created by Kai's Power Tools.

During this time, I was searching on the web 24-7 for an easy object which i can actually start a project on. I saw this nice render of a biplane so I attempted to recreate it. Not exactly a very good job, and no textures. Never really got a chance to finish it up.

Raging Oriental Krew
ROK v1 ROK v2 I have a good friend at school who belongs in some oriental crew and he wanted for me to make him some graphics for their website. I made some stuff, but never really did finish all of it. Actually, I didn't even know that he was still in that crew so I kinda "forgot" about it. I found these in my archives of miscellaneous stuff.

Later on, I might actually still finish off what I started since he recently asked me if I can make some more graphix. Hopefully I can make omes better than these two ugly things. This was a loooong time ago...

SONY MD Skin
SONY skin
[Large Screen Shot]
[Download]
There was a winamp skin craze going around when winamp v1.8 came out. Now there's 1000's of skins available for people to use. You can find a whole bunch at Layer3.org. When looking around, I spotted this skin which represented a SONY MiniDisc Player. I thought it was pretty good so I downloaded it. When I loaded it up, there were tons and tons of problems with the graphix. I fixed it up a whole bunch and now it's availible right here. That's right... here and only here.
